Baltimore, MD – Charm City Pet Crematory, Maryland’s leading provider of aftercare services to pet owners, will be hosting a candlelight vigil in honor of those impacted by the actions of Loving Care Pet Crematory.
According to news reports, police are investigating Loving Care Pet Funeral & Cremation Services in Catonsville after customers said they were given sand or concrete mixtures rather than their pet’s ashes. Investigators found the bodies of 38 cats and dogs packed inside a hearse on the owner’s property in Baltimore City. The bodies of seven additional pets were found dumped on the side of the road, according to police.
Zoey Robinson-Budreski of Charm City Pet Crematory is working with authorities to help cremate the bodies of those pets that have been recovered, and to return those ashes to the pets’ owners.
“As a professional in this industry, and as a pet owner myself, I find it just appalling that these owners have had no closure, and that some of them still have questions about where their pets remains are at this point,” says Robinson-Budreski. “I simply cannot imagine a worse betrayal of trust.”
Robinson-Budreski, who has spent more than two decades serving bereaved pet owners, will be hosting a candlelight vigil at Charm City Pet Crematory, 5172 O’Donnell Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. The service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m.
Events planned include the following:
-
- Candle lighting ceremony
- Reading of the names of lost pets
- Words of comfort from grief counselors and pet aftercare professionals
- Moment of silence for affected pets and their owners
This event aims to offer healing, raise awareness about ethical cremation standards and restore trust in pet aftercare.
“It is going to be very hard for people to trust again after such a wrenching betrayal,” states Robinson-Budreski. “It is our hope that we can offer visitors some comfort, and that healing can begin”
