Howard County Police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the January 2024 killing of a snowplow driver in Ellicott City.

Alexander Molina Rodriguez, 25, of Gwynn Oak, is wanted for first-degree murder and firearm violations in the death of Alex Ramirez Garcia, 37, of Gwynn Oak. Garcia was working as a private snowplow driver clearing the parking lot of a Montessori school in the 4400 block of Montgomery Road when he was shot.

A citizen located Garcia outside of his vehicle in the parking lot at 8:43 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2024. Through investigation, police believe he was shot around 5 a.m. Video surveillance of Rodriguez’s vehicle and evidence found at the scene led detectives to identify him as the suspect. Garcia and Rodriguez were known to one another and police believe the shooting was targeted.

Detectives have learned Rodriguez is not currently in the United States. If he returns, he will be arrested on the open homicide warrant.
