Howard County police are offering a reward of up for $5,000 for information in the fatal shooting of Lance Carrington, 17, in Columbia on Jan. 14.
Carrington, of Columbia, was located deceased in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle in the 6000 block of Helen Dorsey Way at approximately 8:30 p.m. He had been shot at least once. Police continue to investigate at what time the shooting occurred.
Detectives believe that the incident was not random and was possibly drug-related. There is no suspect information at this time.

Howard County police are investigating a fatal shooting in Columbia on Jan. 14 in which one person was killed.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the 6000 block of Helen Dorsey Way for a suspicious circumstances call and located a male victim with at least one gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. The male, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The time the shooting occurred remains under investigation. Preliminarily, the incident does not appear to be random. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
