Brethren Mutual Donates $9K to Hagerstown Community College Scholarship Fund

Hagerstown, MD – Brethren Mutual Insurance Company’s 25th Charity Golf Tournament held in June 2024 raised $9,000 for the Company’s Hagerstown Community College (HCC) Scholarship Foundation Fund. Committed to excellence in continuing education, Brethren Mutual established the Endowment Scholarship Fund in 2023 to invest in the education of local students.

The interest from Brethren Mutual’s donations is awarded annually to an HCC full-time student with at least a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in a business or marketing major. The scholarship recipient does not need to meet any residency or financial need requirements. Additionally, Brethren Mutual employees (and their children) are eligible to receive the scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are selected by the HCC Foundation Scholarship Committee, and funding for the student can be continued annually and transferred to a four-year school. Brethren Mutual is honored to continue its commitment to supporting the educational endeavors for generations to come.
