Ellen Flynn Giles to be Honored at Leadership Howard County Event

COLUMBIA, Md. — Leadership Howard County, which seeks to empower leaders to strengthen and transform the community, will hold A Night of Illuminating Leadership on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at Howard Community College.

At the event, Leadership Howard County will present the Key Community Leader Award to Ellen Flynn Giles, a consultant, analyst, editor and independent business owner. Giles graduated from Leadership Howard County’s Leadership Premier program in 2015. The Key Community Leader Award recognizes a leader whose service to Howard County has made a significant impact and added value to the community.

In addition, Leadership Howard County will present the Emerging Leader Award to Jinal Contractor. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a recent Leadership Howard County graduate who is highly engaged and emerging as a strong community advocate. The organization will also name a Corporate Community Impact Leader, a company making significant contributions to Howard County, as well as the Best Class Ever for 2024.

Award-winning comedian Robert Mac will return this year. Mac has over two decades of experience in comedy clubs, boardrooms, cruise ships and comedy festivals, including the prestigious Just for

Laughs in Montreal, the San Francisco Comedy Competition and the Boston Comedy Festival.
