ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A brush fire has scorched a area of brush and ground covering in the Patapsco State Park’s Hollofield area, off of US Route 40.

At 2 o’clock PM, Firefighters were initially called for an investigation of smoke in the area of the park; additional 911 calls reported a brush fire in the park. Once they made access to the scene, they requested additional fire suppression assistance, including mutual aid from Baltimore County.

Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the park, a water tanker was also dispatched to supply water for the operation.

The blaze was brought under control in approximately 40 minutes.
