Weekend Carjacking in Columbia
Carjacking
Columbia, 21045: 9700 block of Broken Land Parkway, Jan. 25 2:20 a.m.
Two adult victims reported that they were in the parking lot at the above location when a male suspect entered one of the vehicles, threatened and assaulted one of the victims, and fled with one of the victims in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered nearby after the suspect fled on foot. No serious injuries were reported.
Robbery
Ellicott City, 21043: Smoke Zone, 4800 block of Waterloo Road, Jan. 25 9:30 p.m.
An employee reported that three suspects with their faces partially covered entered the business, implied a weapon, and stole merchandise before fleeing. Police later located the suspects and arrested them.
ARRESTED: Juvenile male, 17, of Columbia, and two juvenile males, 15, of Ellicott City and Elkridge, charged with armed robbery, assault, theft and motor vehicle theft
Columbia, 21046: Marshalls, 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway, Jan. 27 1:30 p.m.
An employee reported that when she approached two suspects who had stolen merchandise, one suspect pepper sprayed her before they fled with the merchandise. No serious injuries were reported.
Commercial burglary
Jessup, 20794: Mission Place Apartments, 8100 block of Washington Boulevard, Jan. 24 2:40-8 a.m.
A building employee located two suspects in the fitness room who had entered the building by forcing open a door. Police arrested both suspects. Nothing was reported stolen.
ARRESTED: Alonzo Williams, 33, and Olivia Cartwright-Cole, 34, of Washington, D.C., charged with burglary and destruction of property
Elkridge, 21075: Taco Bell, 6200 block of Washington Boulevard, Jan. 25 7:05 a.m.
Unknown suspect(s) entered the business by breaking a glass door and stole cash.
Jessup, 20794: 8600 block of Washington Boulevard, Jan. 26-27 overnight
Unknown suspect(s) entered three businesses at the above location by breaking the glass doors. The suspect(s) stole cash from Pizzeria Santa Lucia; it is unclear what, if anything, was stolen from Subway and China Dragon.
