Columbia Housing Center Appoints Three Columbia Residents to Its Board of Directors

The Columbia Housing Center is proud to announce that three new members have joined the Board of Directors, serving two-year terms that began in January of 2025.

Kings Contrivance resident Tim Pinel is the Chief Marketing Officer for Columbia Association and the co-owner of Queen Takes Book, an independent bookstore in Columbia, MD. Pinel previously served as the Marketing Director for the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and brings a wealth of experience in marketing, strategic planning, and economic development to the board.

Wilde Lake resident Taneeka Richardson has lived in Columbia for 20+ years. She has served on the board of several Howard County housing organizations. She is well-versed in housing advocacy and helping clients navigate housing mobility programs. Richardson is a Policy Analyst and for the Maryland Center On Economic Policy.

Downtown Columbia resident Betty Bazelais is a Montgomery county native and graduate of UMBC. She has a passion for fair housing advocacy and works for the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County.

Pinel, Richardson, and Bazelais join present board members Ian Kennedy, Merriweather Arts and Culture Center; Rashida George, Howard Hughes; Rob Duru, M&T Bank; and Alex Meeks, Acorn Law, LLC.
