ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Stormwater Management Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Thursday, April 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Hockley Room at the Howard County Library System’s Elkridge branch, to discuss a project to repair the Painter’s Hill stormwater management facility located near 8304 Painted Rock Road in Columbia.
The proposed project will include the replacement of the existing principal spillway and riser with a new concrete principal spillway pipe and riser structure. The project will also bring the pond into compliance with the Maryland Department of the Environment requirements. The project is scheduled to commence construction in August of 2025 and weather permitting, is expected to be completed by April 2026.
The informal meeting will include an overview of the design, followed by a question-and-answer discussion. County staff and the project’s design consultant will be on hand to answer any questions and gather public comments.
Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the plans and/or have questions, should contact Michele Monde with DPW’s Stormwater Management Division at 410-313-0844 or email mmonde@howardcountymd.gov. Please note, this community outreach meeting is not a Howard County Library System event; do not call the Elkridge branch if you have questions about the meeting.
