What’s “Hoppening” in Howard County this April

Spring has sprung and Easter is coming up this month. For those seeking out fun Easter activities, there’s plenty of events full of fun right here in Howard County, whether it’s finding hidden Easter eggs, enjoying some yummy food, or meeting the Easter bunny.

There’s many opportunities for Easter egg hunts this month. Mary’s Land Farm is having its 5th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza. There’s lots of family-friendly activities, including an egg hunt and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. There’s also fun activities such as wagon rides and live farm animal feeding. The Eggstravaganza takes place on April 12 and 19 from 9am-3pm. More information about the event can be found here. Another farm with Easter egg hunt activities is Clark’s Elioak Farm. From April 12 through the 20 there are “egg hunts galore” with multiple egg hunts throughout the day at the farm, free with admission. Clark’s Elioak Farm also has rabbits among the animals at their petting zoo for children to see and pet. More information about the egg hunts including times can be found here.

Another Easter egg hunt event for kids is the Easter egg hunt at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church. It’s completely free and will have Easter egg hunts, games, crafts, face painting, and more. The event is on April 12, more information can be found here. An Easter egg hunt event for kids of all ages, even as young as four months, is the Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza at My Gym in Columbia. The event will be held on April 18 and will have an Easter egg hunt, games, songs, and a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny. More information can be found here.

There are also events that aren’t specifically Easter-themed but still include Easter egg hunts as part of the activities. The Robinson Nature Center is having their Spring Eggstravaganza for Tots on April 12 and 13. There are tot-friendly activities throughout the indoor and outdoor exhibits, crafts, games, and spring sensory fun. There’s an egg hunt and even the ability to see bunnies available for adoption. More information about the event can be found here. For slightly older kids, there’s also KidsFest at Meadowbrook Park on April 19. Kids can enjoy sports instruction, games, activities, arts and crafts, food, and of course, an Easter egg hunt. More information including how to pre-register can be found here.

For those looking for a more athletic event, there’s the Easter Egg Fun Run/Walk around Lake Elkhorn. On April 13, attendees can spot hidden Easter eggs on their stroll around the lake, and bring their goodies back to the store after the walk to celebrate. If hunting down hidden eggs isn’t your thing, then how about getting an Easter-themed tasty treat? On April 11 at the Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar in Old Ellicott City, there’s an Easter Themed Cookie decorating workshop. Attendees can decorate five Easter-themed cookies while enjoying one of Crazy Mason’s signature milkshakes. More information about the event can be found here.

There are also several Easter-themed breakfast and brunch opportunities in Howard County. On April 13 at Main Event Columbia, there will be a breakfast with the Easter bunny event. There will be a breakfast service, a Main Event bowling voucher for an hour of bowling the day of the event, and photo opportunities with the Easter bunny. More information including how to get tickets can be found here. The White Oak Tavern is holding several brunch events, on April 5, 12, and 19. Diners can get their picture taken with the Easter bunny for free and there are jelly beans available for kids. More information can be found here. Another restaurant holding an Easter brunch is Turf Valley Resort. On April 20, Easter Sunday, there will be an Easter Brunch in Turf Valley’s Grand Ballroom, with food selections from scrambled eggs to smoked salmon and Easter pie.
